New WHO Codes to Threaten Babies’ Foreskins

New international medical diagnosis codes open the door for circumcision fraud and abuse

ICD-10
The World Health Organization released its new International Classification of Diseases codes, which may lead to an uptick in routine infant circumcisions when they go into effect.

New York, NY — New medical classification codes released by the World Health Organization (WHO) diagnoses foreskin adhesion in newborns as a medical condition, putting all newborns at risk of medically unnecessary circumcision.

Foreskin adhesion is either natural and should be left alone or caused by forced retraction, the subject of many lawsuits. The American Academy of Pediatrics provides the following information for parents on their Healthy Children website:

Initially, the foreskin is connected by tissue to the glans, or head, of the penis, so you shouldn’t try to retract it.

The doctor will tell you when the foreskin has separated and can be retracted safely. This will not be for several months or years, and should never be forced; if you were to force the foreskin to retract before it is ready, you could cause painful bleeding and tears in the skin.

‘Intactivists’ – anti-circumcision activists – have successfully campaigned to end Medicaid funding for routine infant circumcision in 18 states. They fear that the new International Classification of Diseases (ICD) codes will provide a loophole for doctors and parents wishing to categorize a routine newborn circumcision as medically necessary.

The new ICD codes will go into effect next year on October 1, 2014.

The WHO international headquarters in Geneva failed to return our emails for comment.

Speechless!

I am so utterly disgusted and speechless right now. I had been speaking to a pregnant woman for awhile about circumcision and now that she had the baby she has returned to work. She just a few minutes ago told me she had her son circumcised. So, I asked her what she thought about him loosing a min of 20,000 nerve endings and she said, “He won’t need them, after all thanks to him I can’t feel part of my abdomen.” Unbelievable and utterly disgusting!!!!

So sad and it doesn’t even need to happen.

Healthy newborn in NICU following circumcision.

This literally turns my stomach. I have a knot in my throat, and tears.

I have learned from a friend of a little one she knows who has been fighting for his life after his circumcision surgery.

He was a healthy, full term, newborn baby boy. Perfect and loved.

His circumcision, done not for medical, nor religious reasons, nearly killed him.

He spent several days in the NICU on life support.

He has lost a good portion of his penis.

His adult sexual function will be altered.

He is days old, and has already had to have a surgery (in addition to his circumcision surgery) and there are many more in his future.
Friends, this is preventable.
All this happened, to this precious child, for no reason.

This HAPPENS. It happens to real people. To real babies. Innocent babies who have not asked, nor do they need cosmetic surgery on their genitals. It could happen to your baby.
Please don’t risk it. It’s not worth it.
That’s all I can say about that. Pray for this child.

Please don’t be afraid to educate.

I gave up a long time ago caring what other people think about me. They are going to think what they want to no matter what I say or do. So, with that said here is what happened to me the last time I got gas in my truck.

The attendant was putting fuel in my truck and saw the Intact America sticker on my back window that says “Bring the whole baby home, say NO to circumcision.” He then remarked that he doesn’t know any different. So, the other attendant (Him and I have talked about circumcision and restoring before) said, “Ask him, he’ll tell you.” And the guy did. I was able to educate him and gave him a card that lists Intact websites on one side and restoring sites on the other. Ahhh, it was a good day at the gas station today.
